One week immersive retreat that explored the spectrum of human development from survival to spiritual cultivation. Through fire, one of the most fundamental forces of life, participants experienced how to thrive with nature as our ancestors did. Activities included how to make fire with sticks, how to fashion tools from things found in the environment, movement in nature, eating fresh foods, storytelling, using nature to hone the senses, and the exploration of the origins of ceremonial and shamanic practices around fire. The purpose of the retreat was to help participants reconnect with and develop a thriving relationship with nature. This retreat was done in collaboration with my dear friend Neil Hill, a wildlife biologist, wildfire instructor, co-founder of Earth Strength, and all around nice guy.
